Marty Davidoff

Mr. Davidoff is owner and founder of E. Martin Davidoff & Associates, a CPA/law practice specializing in tax controversy work, IRS problems resolution, individual and corporate taxation, income tax research and planning, S corporations, business start-ups and business consulting. He is licensed as an attorney and a CPA in New Jersey and New York. Mr. Davidoff earned his J.D. from the Washington School of Law, his M.B.A. from the Boston University Graduate School of Management, and his B.S. from the Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

His extensive knowledge of IRS policies and procedures, combined with his dual licensure, enables him to analyze every case from both the legal and tax perspectives. He frequently negotiates with the IRS to release levies and liens in exchange for manageable payment plans and has a successful track record of completing dozens of offers in compromise and closing agreements with the IRS, New Jersey Division of Taxation and New York Division of Taxation & Finance. He often secures the waiver of penalties assessed by the IRS and state tax agencies for the late payment of payroll or income taxes.

Mr. Davidoff is proud to be a past president of the American Association for Attorney-CPAs, the nation’s preeminent organization for attorneys who are also licensed as CPAs. He founded and chaired the group’s IRS Tax Liaison Committee. A member of the American Institute of CPAs Tax Division and the NJ State Bar Association Section on Taxation, Mr. Davidoff keeps his finger on the pulse of legislative changes impacting tax professionals. Active in the New Jersey Society of CPAs for many years at the state and chapter levels, he earned their Member Service Award in 1988/89.

Mr. Davidoff regularly speaks at the IRS National Tax Forums, as well as at CPA Societies and Bar Associations throughout the country. He frequently teaches his self-developed course, “Window into the IRS,” which features sessions on the IRS offer in compromise program and how to navigate through IRS policies and procedures.
